Dave Hourigan, Project Manager at Integral Surface Designs approached timeware® in November 2016 to discuss the idea of introducing a time management system for their 80+ staff. Dave explained that the 5 year old company was growing rapidly and the ‘paper and pen’ system currently in use was inaccurate and open to abuse.
The on-site demonstration was carried out by Matt Wilkinson, (Head of timeware® Support), and the quote was with the customer within three working days. Dave was very keen to implement a system before the Christmas break and therefore following acceptance of the quote, a technician was allocated and a pre-installation meeting organised within seven days!
The timeware® 2017 biometric solution was installed and implemented over a three day period including operator training.

Question 1. What problems did it solve?
Reducing costs by reducing human error whilst saving time! Once timeware® was installed we saw an immediate benefit with lateness and absenteeism being highlighted in real-time, not a week after the event. Overtime can now be monitored more effectively and the most important point moving forward as the company continues to grow is the knowledge that we have an effective workforce management system that could cope with a staff level 10 times our current size.
Question 2. Are you happy with the system, was it money well spent?
Definitely! We are more than happy with timeware®, it is saving the wages team a considerable amount of time and providing managers with information that was previously unavailable. We were originally concerned about our complex working patterns but timeware® have configured our system to cope with any eventuality.
